Thursday 15th of November, 2012

In the lead up to the return of Formula One to the US, FOTA held a Fans’ Forum on Wednesday 14th November 2012 in Austin in partnership with Dell. Hosted by Speed TV’s Will Buxton, 500 enthusiastic fans attended and as well as being able to ask questions to the panellists, they also had a chance to drive a lap of the Circuit of the Americas on a simulator, and have their picture taken alongside a Caterham F1 Showcar. The event was streamed live online, and fans were able to ask questions via Twitter, using the #FOTAFORUM. Geoff Moore, Commercial Director of COTA welcomed fans to Austin, and thereafter the first panel session started, which included Sam Michael (McLaren), Robert Fernley (Sahara Force India), and Graeme Lowdon (Marussia). The drivers followed, and Hekki Kovalainen and Alexander Rossi of Caterham, were joined by Valtteri Bottas (Williams) and Esteban Gutierrez (Sauber). The Forum concluded with Speed TV’s David Hobbs, FIA Steward Garry Connelly, and 2 time US GP winner John Watson.
