Lotus F1 Team

Based at Enstone in Oxfordshire in the United Kingdom, Lotus F1 Team has a proud history running through Toleman (1981); Benetton (1986-2001); Renault (2002-2010) and Lotus Renault GP (2011). The team won its first Constructors‘ Championship in 1995 under the Benetton name; ten years later it went on to win to back to back championships in 2005 and in 2006 as Renault.

Now owned 100% by Genii Capital, who acquired a majority shareholding in 2011, the team was named Lotus F1 Team at the beginning of 2012.

Genii Capital’s vision for Lotus F1 Team is ambitious. It is committed to the on-going development and investment in Enstone as a centre of motorsport excellence. Enstone is a full production facility for Formula 1 cars. The team now operates a 60% scale wind tunnel and from April 2012 a new state-of-the-art Driver in the Loop simulator.
